It’s worth celebrating!

Not only has it been 40 years since the senior class of 1969 was liberated from the shackles of high school, but 2009 also marks the 100th anniversary of CHS. (see below)

So how do we celebrate?

A 40th Reunion is in the works, and we want to see everyone there who can possibly be there! A date has been chosen, but we’re still working on details. We hope you’ll plan to join us on the evening of October 24 this year. This date coincides with Clearwater’s Fall Festival, which has been moved to October. More information on place and time will be forthcoming. Suggestions to the Reunion Committee are always welcome. If you’d like to be a part of the committee, please let us know.

Where will it be held?

That’s the big question. We need a place to gather! We plan to do a big blowout in ten years, so we’re hoping to keep the cost of this reunion at a minimum. If you know of a place we can rent or even better, use at no cost, please let us know! Keeping it casual is a goal. Do you have or know of a barn, shed or other building that could hold at least 30 people? Or maybe more! Please contact us if you have something, know of something possible or have any ideas at all.

How do we find out more?

With email being the quickest and easiest way to communicate, we’d love to have yours! Your email address can be made available to all former classmates via our website, where staying in touch is simple. Your information is not shared with anyone else. If, however, you’d prefer to keep your email address private, we understand and will use it only to contact you regarding class information, such as the reunions. Whichever you decide, please send us your email.

A website?

Yes, the Class of ’69 has an official website and includes not only information about the reunion, but on classmates, past reunions, photos, trivia, links to nostalgia, and more. There’s also a blog where you can post comments to others and keep in touch as a group. We’d love to have you visit the website and drop us a line, either via email or the blog, if only to say hi. It’s fun and it’s easy! Or send an email to the administration for more information or instructions.

Are there any other ways to keep in touch?

There are currently several websites dedicated to keeping former classmates in touch with each other. One of the most popular is Classmates, but the ability to use all of the features means paying for them. The same is true for Reunion.com (Now MY LIFE). We invite you to add your name to one that’s free and easy to use. Visit Alumni Class and add your name!

You can also find several of us on Facebook!

We hope to hear from you soon, either by email or snail mail. And don’t forget to send us your email address if you have one.

Best wishes for a prosperous and joyous 2009 from the Class of ’69 Reunion Committee!
